Gifts for the Girls

Christmas is really the only time I splurge out on Cosmetics in one big hit. Of course being the season of goodwill and all that malarkey the stuff I purchase is nor for moi (boo) but for my three daughters. I like to get them some quality products which they don't or indeed can't purchase for themselves on a regular basis . All three have very different tastes and preferences so being a lovely Mummy I splashed the cash at my local Debenhans (have to admit to being a little obsessed at wandering the Cosmetics and perfumes so it wasn't exactly a trial) and here are the results.

Clinique

Being a major Clinique fan myself it was rather hard to put myself aside and choose products for  someone else. I did however manage to purchase a Instant Lift for brows which comprises a twist up eyebrow pencil and in the other a highlighter to use underneath. I've yet to try it but will review and let you know my thoughts!
Anyway enough if me, My eldest daughter is a new Mum and as I'm sure a lot us can relate to, time is precious! I wanted to get her a couple of pieces that were practical (That sounds very Mummy, but you know what I mean!).
I opted for Clinique's Best selling Mascara which I use myself daily. This is honestly the best I have found and I have the stumpiest eyelashes in history, trust me. I also find that it lasts a really long time which is a bonus and Clinique often add this to their Bonus gifts, double whammy!
The second Item I chose was fresh bloom  allover colour in Almond blossom blend. This is a long wearing illuminating powder than can be used all over the face or as a highlighter on the cheekbones. I'm a fan of multi-use products, anything that saves time and is a godsend in my opinion! If all you're doing is nipping to Tesco that what could be easier than a quick brush over to give a finished look with minimum effort!
Thirdly I picked another of my personal favourites, a Chubby Stick moisturising lip colour balm in Bountiful blush. This is a lovely pinky beige natural colour and I felt it would compliment the Fresh Bloom nicely. These little sticks of lovlieness are ease itself, I urge you to try one if not already converted! They come in 18 shades and really help with dry lips, I keep one on me all the time at work and apply during the day (Usually using my Stapler as a mirror!

Urban Decay

My Middle daughter is a huge fan of eye make up and has lashes to die for! Last year I bought her Urban Decay and, as she's raved about it ever since, I felt it my Motherly duty to make her happy again this year.
Urban Decay have an amazing variety of shades and I have to say that some were way too "Way out" for my taste (But then hey, I am 50!!)
I was after a gift set rather than individual items and was plesantly suprised at the choices in front of me. The sets also represented great value for money - say no more.
The set I chose was the Naked Palette which consists of 12 shades ranging from neutral Champagne to Gunmetal. The versaltility of this palette really appealed to me as the shadows are a mixture of Matt, Satin, Shimmer and Sparkle properties and will definately deliver the desired look be it a day at work or a night on the town!
The Palette also includes a full size crease and shadow brush rather than the teeny weeny ones that come with some sets.
To compliment the Palette I also puchased the fabulous Eyeshadow Primer Potion. This little wonder is an invisible primer which gives vibrant colour and gives 24 hours of lasting wear with no creasing - Wow!!!

Benefit

Benefit's fabulous packaging attracts me like a magnet time after time! Luckily my youngest is a fan which gives me the perfect excuse to purchase a few goodies at this time of year.
Firstly it would be rude not to buy a couple of BADgal Mascaras. All of my daughters have fabulous lashes but this mascara is seriously wicked and they just love it!

BADgal Mascara simply gives the most voluminous lashes EVER and it's blacker than black itself. The packs I bought had both a 0.14oz and a 0.3oz size perfect for keeping one at home and one in your handbag!

The next products i chose were a couple of "They're real Push up liners, Lash hugging gel liner pens. These have a Accueflex tip which allows you to draw right on the lash line making eyes look bigger and bigger!
The matte black gel formula does'nt smudge, budge or dry out, no Panda eyes halfway through the day!

As as far as shadows go I picked a dear little palette "Smokin Eyes" which is actually an eye and brow make-over kit.
The little kit contains eye bright,3 smokin' eyeshadows, pink highlight shadow, pewter base shadow, deep charcoal shadow smokin' liner, brow zings shaping wax, fluff shadow/hard angle brush and tiny tweezers for discreet touch-ups. In addition there is a little lesson card to help you achieve the look.

Most of my youngest's look is all about the eyes ,but I chose what I considered to be a fairly neutral shade for the lips. The Hoola Ultra plus is a shimmering gold nude gloss in an easy application squeezy tube. They definatey have a luxurious feel without being like sticky jam! Personally I like a gold effect on the lips, really adds fullness, a tip I remember from my younger days..
